Abstract
Selecting only very promising managers for development programs might seem to make good economic sense, but a broader involvement of all managers can build a healthier company. in the first place, it is virtually impossible to predict who the top-level managers will turn out to be. and even the certainty that some managers are bound to fail can be countered more easily when such a program exists than when it doesn't.
