Abstract
The guest editors wish to publish the following acknowledgment. We conclude with our thanks to everyone who made the Symposium and this Special Issue such a success. In addition to the authors and the academic discussants whose comments are included in this Issue, we would like to thank the discussants from practice/business whose thoughts on the papers added so much value to authors and attendees. Specifically we thank Upkar Arora (Illumina Partners Inc.), Mike Garvey, Kam Grewal (Canadian Public Accountability Board), Glenn Ives (Deloitte Canada), Marion Kirsh (Ontario Securities Commission), and Louse Lalonde (Magna International). We thank the staff and members of the Centre for Accounting Ethics, University of Waterloo for their work and support throughout: Linda Robinson, Theresa Libby, Krista Fiolleau, Kevin Markle, Efrim Boritz, Darren Charters, Grant Russell, and most importantly Jenny Rothwell for her strong administrative support. We thank the Centre for its generous financial support, without which neither this Special Issue nor the Symposium would have been possible. We thank the many colleagues and friends throughout the accounting ethics world, who so kindly stepped up to review when asked. This exercise has demonstrated to us that the accounting ethics community is strong, intellectually exciting and one to which we should all be proud to belong. Lastly we thank the editors (Thomas Maak in particular) and staff of theJournal of Business Ethicsfor allowing our papers to proceed to this Special Issue. This critical support has ensured all our authors’ and discussants’ work is given the prominence and prestige it so richly deserves. Thank you.
