Abstract
Examined a scale developed by the US Civil Service Commission for a study of federal sector union–mangement relationships. The content of the scale covers the aspects of union–management relationships widely discussed in the literature. The scale was administered to 28 managers and 29 union officers from 6 federal government organizations. The measure had a very high internal consistency reliability. Union and management leaders within the same organization had fairly high agreement on the quality of their relationship. The measure correlated highly with 2 other quality criteria. Thus the scale appears to be a useful tool for measuring and comparing the quality of union–management relationships. (17 ref) (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
