Abstract

Investigated the relationship of job satisfaction and occupational prestige for 5 religious groupings (Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, none, and other). 3,928 Ss (average age 40 yrs) participated in the 1972–1977 General Social Survey. Results of multivariate regression analyses suggest that religious affiliation significantly moderated the job satisfaction–job quality relationship. Underlying causal processes and implications of the observed differences are discussed. (35 ref) (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
