Abstract

Concerns the development of a Guttman-type scale of attitudes of southern industrial managers toward organized labor and the extent to which the results of such quantified statements differ from those of industrial managers outside the South. A 7-item scale was obtained. A comparison of the outcomes of these items with measures of attitudes of industrial managers outside the South identifies similarities and differences in patterns of responses related to matters of the role of the union, the problem of union shop, collective bargaining, and the process of decision making.
