Abstract
Administered the MMPI and the Personality Research Form to 15 volunteer Antarctic explorers before, in the middle of, and after an 8.5-mo period of isolation, and to 30 male undergraduates on 2 occasions 8 mo apart. Results suggest that the explorers were generally better adjusted, more achievement oriented, more self-sufficient, and more serious minded than the undergraduates. No changes in personality profiles were observed on retesting. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
