Comparisons of self- and superior ratings of managerial performance
Journal of Applied Psychology · 1974 · Volume 59 · Issue 5
Abstract
Self- and superior ratings of performance on 9 dimensions were obtained from an interorganizational sample of 102 managers by a mail questionnaire. It was found that self-ratings possessed less leniency, restriction of range, and halo error than did superior ratings. The ratings only partially met the requirements of convergent and discriminant validity. (15 ref) (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
