Abstract
This new scale theoretic approach to item analysis is shown to be useful in shortening a standardized test. A short test of 20 Otis items was developed. Testing time was 8 minutes. "Cross-validation resulted in a correlation of .82 between the scores obtained on the long and short forms." (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
