Review of Odors: Physiology and control
Journal of Applied Psychology · Volume 34 · Issue 6
Abstract
Reviews the book entitled "Odors: Physiology and control" by C. P. McCord and W. Witheridge (see record 1950-04412-000 ). The authors were concerned, primarily, with the offensive odors and the engineering of odor control. Because the area covered by the book is so large, many topics are treated rather sketchily. This appears to be particularly true of matters psychological. There is a large and moderately useful bibliography (124 pp., some 3,500 references), arranged by chapters. The authors stated that several hundred of the items were cited from secondhand sources. It would have been useful to identify this material by some simple symbol and to separate it from references actually seen. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
