Review of Making and using industrial service ratings
Journal of Applied Psychology · Volume 29 · Issue 4
Abstract
Reviews the book, Making and using industrial service ratings by George D. Halsey (1944). "This book is intended primarily for operating and personnel executives who are interested in the practical aspects of service ratings--what has been done, what the difficulties are, and how rating problems similar to theirs have been worked out successfully by other executives." The book, however, contains material of value to anyone interested in employee ratings. The reviewer concludes that this book is a worthwhile contribution to the literature on rating industrial employees. Although the approach is not scholarly, most of the content is sound and, above all, it is realistic. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
