Abstract

Reviews the book, We Call it Human Nature by Paul Grabbe in cooperation with Gardner Murphy (see record 1940-02212-000 ). Grabbe has discovered a method for presenting psychological facts in an appetizing form of understandable words and pictures. The usual topics are presented in the different chapters. At first glance one is inclined to regret that so much space has been given to pictures and drawings; but upon scrutiny, one recognizes that they are perhaps more valuable than the reading material. The instructor who wants to be the dominant stimulus should not use this book. The book is admirably suited to a first course in psychology in the high school and as a supplement to the regular text in the first course in college.
