Abstract

Reviews the book, Freud: Master and friend by H. Sachs (1944). According to the reviewer, this is an enjoyable book. It is light and informative, partly biographical, partly autobiographical. Little insights into the workings of the group of people surrounding Freud are liberally interspersed, and it furnishes an excellent description of the social atmosphere in which Freud lived and initiated psychoanalysis. This book is not an important one for personnel directors, but will be useful reading for the majority of those psychologists who are interested in psychoanalysis.
