Abstract
Comments on the review of "The measured effectiveness of employee publications" by the Marketing and Social Research Division of the Psychological Corporation (see record 1954-03370-000 ). The present author comments that the authors were rather concerned with the low and occasionally negative correlations between Flesch scores and readership. The explanation, he believes, is to be found more in the nature of the articles than in the weaknesses of the formula or the measures of readership, although neither is perfect by any means.
