Group guidance; Principles, techniques
Journal of Applied Psychology · Volume 34 · Issue 4
Abstract
Reviews Group guidance; Principles, techniques, and evaluation (1949), by Robert Hoppock. This book is not recommended for psychologists, but is described as a useful one for teachers and administrators in secondary education. It is pitched well as to level, it is readable, it contains many answers to "how" questions, and it makes none of the "naive claims which have marred so many similar publications." The reviewer concludes it is a sound, well written book, objective in presentation, and cautious in approach that should be received well in educational circles.
