Abstract

Comments on Bernard's (see record 1953-00703-001 ) criticism of Rock's article which included an attack on the editor for accepting Rock's paper. The author provides a statement on editorial policy and admits that the standards of editorial judgment vary depending upon the subject matter. Publication of articles does not imply editorial endorsement. Neither does the publication of Bernard's criticism imply editorial endorsement of his rather sharply worded attack. Furthermore, the editor assumes that the readers of the "Journal of Applied Psychology" are sufficiently mature and sufficiently competent not to be easy victims of the fallacy of "it is printed and therefore it is fact."
