Abstract

Reviews the book, Procedures in evaluating a guidance program by Frances M. Wilson (see record 1946-01704-000 ). In the discussion of criteria, some 154 questions are presented, one following the other, which the author proposes to be answered in the evaluation of a secondary school program. It is argued that the listing of factors which must be considered in respect to a guidance program should be studied carefully by those who intend to introduce a program. Even those persons who are at present administering a successful program might find it to their advantage to go over this list and relate it to their own program. The summary of evaluation studies tends to concentrate on the New York School Survey whereas other studies are briefly mentioned or omitted entirely. In general the book attempts to cover too much ground in 210 pages. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
