Review of Men at work
Journal of Applied Psychology · Volume 32 · Issue 5
Abstract
Reviews the book, Men at work by K. Brodman (1947). In surprisingly few pages Dr. Brodman has presented an extremely readable book about the "Supervisor and His People." This book, based on experiences in the Cornell Caterpillar Tractor Company personnel program, is directed at front line supervisors in the hope that they will be aided toward a better understanding of their workers and themselves. The advantages of this volume can be simply stated: (1) it is easy to read and to understand; (2) it contains tested psychological principles and methods for employee counseling; and (3) it answers a definite need for a supervisor's handbook in human relations.
