Abstract

Reviews the book, Modern Motherhood, A Book of Information on Complete Maternity Care, Prenatal-Delivery-After Care by Claude E. Heaton (1935). There has been a great number of books and booklets issued by commercial publishers, the Federal government, State governments and national associations designed as handbooks for prospective mothers. This book by Dr. Heaton would easily take a leading position among all this literature. In a free, simple and yet accurate way he has discussed the problems of pregnancy, childbirth, human embryology and maternity care. In many respects it is the most practical of the many maternity handbooks. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
