Abstract

Replies that George Filipetti (see record 2005-15103-001 ) is technically correct in his comment on the article by Paterson and Jenkins (1948), entitled "Communication Between Management and Workers." Incidental mention is made of written instructions and communications on the pages cited, but nowhere is the problem of scientifically constructed written communications to employees mentioned. The index of the book seems to be deficient. Nowhere can we find in the index such items as instruction cards, communications, written communications, charts, means of communication, understanding of written instructions, or any other term suggesting that scientific management people seriously considered, at any time, scientific means of insuring comprehension of management communications on the part of workers.
