Abstract
Statistical analysis showed that 3 factors were operating to account for practically all of the obtained variability; "Skill Demands (General)" accounted for 82%, "Job Characteristics" for 16%, "Skill Demands (Specific)" for 2%. The authors conclude that the proposed "abbreviated scale would yield results practically identical to those obtained with the original scale and would greatly reduce the time required as well as the complexity of the rating process."
