Abstract

Repeated interviews were made with 33 housewives relative to the brands of certain common commodities they purchased. The extent of changes from one brand to another and the causes of these changes were studied. Some of the difficulties in the construction of questionnaires relative to the problem of detecting the influence of advertising are discussed.
