Abstract

College level prediction has usually centered around academic achievement and has chiefly used test scores of these areas for prognostication. However, the students who sought counseling at the University of Minnesota Testing Bureau wished to choose occupations in which their interests and abilities would be combined. Taking the above event as an indication that student interests might be partially responsible for prediction failure, a curriculum satisfaction questionnaire was given to students of the Institute of Technology, Minnesota University. Analysis of the data indicates that, although satisfaction is related to academic achievement, the results of this study do not demonstrate that interest will or will not predict curriculum satisfaction.
