Abstract
During the academic year 1947-48 the attitudes of the non-academic employees of the University of Illinois were surveyed by the interview questionnaire method in 5 broad areas of job satisfaction. They were: (1) adjustment to job; (2) supervision; (3) participation-expression; (4) working conditions; and (5) incentives. There were 34 items in the questionnaire, and 379 persons were interviewed. Of 8 factors rotated, after analysis by the Complete Centroid Method, 2 were called "Job Satisfaction" and "Knowledge of Employee Benefits."
