Abstract

During the past 15 years there has been a marked tendency to reduce the requirements for entrance into introductory courses in psychology. A study of the grades earned in introductory psychology courses at 2 universities by freshmen and sophomores, equated for intelligence test scores, indicated a superiority on the part of the latter students, but the difference was not highly significant statistically.
