A note on the critical note

Abstract
In response to a criticism by R. L. Thorndike ( J. appl. Psychol. , 1938, 22, 657-658) that on some of the sub-tests of the Pressey interest-attitude test a person may obtain a low maturity score by over-extensively checking all items, it is pointed out that the test does differentiate according to age and correlates with other measures of emotional maturity.
