Abstract
10 tests, involving arithmetic, reaction speed, dotting and tapping, distance judgment and discrimination, and mechanical principles, were administered to groups of taxicab drivers. All men did not take all tests, but N for each test was 218 to 441. 7 tests showed U-shaped relationships to turnover, with individuals scoring either high or low being more likely to leave the job than those scoring around the average. Since intelligence tests show similar relationships, it was concluded that "intellectual requirements" do not completely explain the typical turnover U-curve.
