Abstract

McGehee (see 17 : 2893) suggested that tests constructed to measure specific characteristics found necessary for success in given technological schools might be more useful than the ACE, English, and mathematics tests whose predictive value he investigated. Traxler suggests trying first the use of a more adequate battery selected from tests now available. He also doubts the appropriateness of McGehee's method of testing the hypothesis that the tests used are useful in predicting for persons scoring either high or low on the tests, and suggests that McGehee's study would have been more meaningful if standard deviations for scores of various groups had been given.
