Abstract

The Strong vocational interest inventory was given to all freshmen enrolled in the orientation course of the Teachers College at Nebraska. The women seemed not to have teaching as a primary interest, so a further study of their interests was made. The majority of them were interested in teaching as a temporary occupation, but marriage and home activities were more desired than a permanent professional career. Observations concerning interest measurement by the Strong inventory are made. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
