Abstract

Clark and Owens (see 29: 3120) erroneously reached the conclusion that the Worthington PHB is less efficacious than two other standard inventories, partly because "… several major errors were committed in designing and executing this little study… As a matter of fact, even the selected data… in the… report would lead an impartial investigator to exactly the opposite conclusion… ." The authors cite failure to correct chi-square and contingency coefficient values, unknown criterion rating reliability, failure to compare the PHB reports with the inventories on traits covered by the PHB.
