Opinion polling with mark-sensed punch cards
Journal of Applied Psychology · 1947 · Volume 32 · Issue 1
Abstract
A description is given of the use of the mark-sensing attachment to the IBM Reproducing Punch for opinion polling. By this method, pencil marks on the IBM card are converted into punched holes at the rate of 100 cards per minute. Other applications of the mark-sensing technique are suggested.
