Abstract
The effect of predisposing and other factors on the apparent time order of successive sounds and flashes was investigated. The time intervals were .04, .08, .12, and .16 seconds. Within these time intervals, the group as a whole made more errors in judgment when the sound was presented first. The group best situated in the experimental room made more errors when the flash was presented first. When the sound source was obscured from view, errors increased.
