Studies in International Morse Code. 4. A note on second-level training in code reception
Journal of Applied Psychology · 1944 · Volume 29 · Issue 2
Abstract
A new procedure described by the author (see 18: 294) involved student response to auditory signals with nearly immediate verification and correction by an instructor. The first paper reported the establishment of fundamental stimulus-response relationships (first-level training); the present paper describes two variations of a method of gaining speed responses. In 55 hours of training, nearly all students achieved reception at 10 words per minute. (See also 18: 1658; 3081.) (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
