Abstract

The Bell adjustment inventory and the Wisconsin scale of personality traits were found to be unrelated to the difference between achieved grade-point averages in college and grade-point averages predicted from rank in high school class and the American Council test of scholastic aptitude. Even when the 20 most differentiating items on the personality tests were combined into a single index the correlation with grade-point discrepancies was only .20.
