Abstract

From among 250 MMPI items that discriminated significantly between teachers scoring high and teachers scoring low on the Minnesota Teacher Attitude Inventory, two sets of 50 items were selected (principally on the basis of content) to form a Hostility (Ho) Scale and a Pharisaic virtue (Pv) scale. "The Ho scale… reveals a type of individual characterized by a dislike for and distrust of others. The Pv scale… reveals a type of person who described himself as preoccupied with morality and ridden with fears and tensions." (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
