Development of a short test to predict a complex aggregate score

Abstract

A technique is described for constructing a short test to determine the probability of reaching a qualifying cut-off score on a weighted aggregate score, the aptitude index. An N of 1622 was used in the development of a 30-item test form which is "… essentially a short form of the aptitude index… " Reliability and validity coefficients are presented, with a probability curve and table showing the relationship of the predictor score and the aptitude index.
