Abstract
With college students, it was found that knowledge of the results of the Literary Digest's poll in the 1936 presidential election influenced subjects to favor Landon, but the difference was not statistically significant. The results of a further investigation were inconclusive as to whether individuals who shifted their preference after knowledge of poll results were influenced by the poll.
