Abstract

Interviewing procedures and techniques used by the Psychological Corporation in their tenth social survey are described. Five thousand interviews were conducted by 412 interviewers and 121 local supervising psychologists. Trends in public opinion and some evaluation of the findings are included under sample questions and tabulation of answers. Among the general topics discussed are race and class prejudice, wages and cost of living, free enterprise vs. government control, 1944 election results, and postwar pessimism.
