Abstract
Reviews the books, General Psychology for College Students by C. N. Rexroad (1929); and The Science of Psychology by R. H. Wheeler (1929); and Psychology. Revised Edition by R. S. Woodworth (1929). These three textbooks considerably increase the proportion of the volume concerned with learning and habit, individual differences and personality. Rexroad further devotes more than the expected proportion to method, nervous system, and language. There is still a meager portion of these texts given to mental hygiene, moral and social behavior; but it is safe to predict that the next texts will contain developments of these topics. Wheeler even now devotes approximately twice as much relative space to social behavior as is commonly found in other recent texts. Both Woodworth and Wheeler give a little more importance to mental hygiene than is common (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
