Review of Strategy in handling people
Journal of Applied Psychology · Volume 14 · Issue 6
Abstract
Reviews the book, Strategy in handling people by Ewing T. Webb and John J. B. Morgan (see record 1931-00671-000 ). This book is a collaboration of a business/newspaper man and a psychologist. The method consists of illustrating psychological principles by anecdotes from the careers of successful men. In each instance there is a direct plunge into the anecdote after a catchy headline and later attention is called to some of the psychological points, usually by means of italics. The psychology included in the book is sound enough. The book follows no systematic outline or scheme of development that is very apparent; it is simply one interesting anecdote after another, with the point made, however, in every case. It does contain quite a few suggestions that will be of benefit to a man who is concerned with handling people under actual practical conditions.
