[Review of the book Experiments in psychical science
Journal of Applied Psychology · Volume 4 · Issue 2-3
Abstract
Reviews the book, Experiments in psychical science by W. J. Crawford (1919). The present book is in part a continuation of his previous work on The Reality of Psychic Phenomena. The author describes in some detail his methods and the results obtained with levitation, contact phenomena, and direct voice phenomena. In spite of all pseudo-scientific efforts to introduce a few physical measurements into the seances the author does not seem to have been able to avoid self-deception, and his experiments are not convincing.
