Abstract

The American Council on Education Intelligence Test correlates .618 ± .061 with theory grades for a group of 48 first-year student nurses. The Stanford Revision of the Binet-Simon Test, the Moss Social Intelligence Test and the Moss Nursing Aptitude Test do not show any significant correlation with practice or theory grades. Student nurses tend to score higher, on the Bernreuter Personality Inventory, in neurotic tendencies and lower in self-sufficiency and dominance when compared with college women. Previous studies are briefly reviewed. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
