Abstract

On the basis of data obtained by the administration of the Lehman Play Quiz to more than 6000 children in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri, the authors conclude that "Going to the Movies" is an activity very much favored by both white and negro children, and that it provides a definitely pleasurable escape mechanism. Tables are presented and references given. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
