General information, intelligence, and the decline of intelligence
Journal of Applied Psychology · 1929 · Volume 14 · Issue 6
Abstract
The use of general-information tests in the measurement of senescent decline in intelligence is suggested. While there may be an absolute rise in score on a general-information test (e.g., Army Alpha sub-test 8), this may indicate a relative decline of intelligence (i.e., in being less than the expected increment for a given increase in chronological age).
