Abstract

A battery of three reading tests was given to three groups (retarded, average, and accelerated) of children in grade 7A in a junior high school. The battery consisted of the Haggerty Reading Examination, Sigma 3, the Monroe Standardized Silent Reading Test (revised), and the Sangren-Woody Reading Test. Neither the Haggerty nor the Monroe test was found suitable for retarded children. The Sangren-Woody test alone was found equally suitable for advanced, average, and retarded children.
