Abstract
Reports the development of "coach proof" tests for various kinds of personnel selection. Significant improvement was observed with practice on 10 alternative forms of the Woodworth-Wells hard directions test. A test of filing efficiency, measuring psychomotor aptitude of manipulating files, a series of tests for the selection of clerical workers and the omnibus test for reasoning and control of imagery were found to be applicable to groups. The 'cued-combination' method brought out the educational differences in performance of 140 high school and college students. The geographical information test was found to be a test of practical information rather than of intelligence. A comparison of students who had not yet made independent adjustments to life with those who had, showed a relation between functions of the above tests and levels of accomplishment.
