Professor Munsterberg's vocational tests
Journal of Applied Psychology · 1916 · Volume 1 · Issue 3
Abstract
Reports an attempt to correlate a series of mental tests with collegiate standing and vocational aptitude. 13 tests including face association, attention (intellectual and perceptual), construction by selection, completion (intellectual and perceptual), word building, decision reasoning (relation and principle), reconstruction (perceptual and intellectual) and sentence building were given to 460 Ss. The results indicated that: (1) the ranking of the tests in the various groups of Ss did not intercorrelate highly except in a few instances (2) there was evidence of some correlation between the set of tests and class standing and (3) some of the tests were found to be sensitive to vocational aptitude. Describes a number of new forms of tests being devised by Munsterberg for the purpose of vocational study and standardization. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
