Abstract

The writer maintains that the derivation of the formula is "based upon the same assumption and derived in a strictly parallel manner" with Kelley's 1921 formula. The standard error of estimate was improperly derived by Kelley "when an obtained standard score is taken as evidence of the best estimated 'true standard score.'
