Abstract
A supplement to and revision of the work of Harry Dexter Kitson. The authors, in continuing this experiment, have investigated and completed the years which Kitson left unfinished and have added the years since the publication of the latter's book Scientific Advertising. The Literary Digest was taken as a representative general magazine. The proportion of full-page advertisements in it showed a seven-fold increase during the decade 1910-1920, a decline during 1921-1923, a rise during 1924-1926, and a sharp drop followed by partial recovery since that time.
