Syllabic length, recognition and immediate recall
Journal of Applied Psychology · 1933 · Volume 18 · Issue 6
Abstract
Words of 1 to 5 syllables were presented orally to 192 students in a voice training class. Recall was tested by written response and recognition by checking a list of words. Syllabic length does not seem to be a determining factor in immediate recall or recognition of words. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
