Abstract

Of 25 children studied, all were of average physical development, only 10 of average intelligence, none above normal, none as low as the idiot level. A tendency toward improvement of IQ occurred with the approach of adolescence. In nearly all cases the children were of higher IQ than their mothers, from which fact the author concludes that mental deficiency is a recessive character.
